Gun Permit Center was acquired by Jay Ganal and Krista Young, owners of Spartan Safety & Security, LLC, in December 2023. While the name changed hands, our mission remained simple: provide high-quality training, practical education, and ongoing support for responsible firearm owners throughout Minnesota.
Jay and Krista have been friends and worked together for 16 years and built their partnership and connection on a shared belief that education changes lives. Long before purchasing Gun Permit Center, they spent years training, coaching, mentoring, and helping people build confidence through safety, preparedness, and personal responsibility.
That passion led to the creation of Spartan Safety & Security, LLC, where they developed a reputation for delivering engaging, real-world training that puts people first. Whether teaching workplace safety, emergency preparedness, or firearms training, the goal has always been the same: invest in people, not transactions.
When the opportunity to acquire Gun Permit Center came along, it was a natural fit and they both went after it and made it happen.
Our vision was never to become the largest permit company. Our vision was to become the company people trust. We wanted students to feel supported before, during, and long after their class was complete. We wanted to create lifetime connections, not one-time customers.
Today, Gun Permit Center offers flexible online and in-person training options while maintaining the personal touch that has become the foundation of everything we do. Through both Gun Permit Center and Spartan Safety & Security, we continue to provide practical education, expert guidance, and a welcoming environment for students of all experience levels.
